SASE

SASE that fits your sites and your risk, explained plainly.

Nimbl Networks is a technology advisory firm based in Dallas, Texas, that helps multi-site organizations design, negotiate, implement and support telecom and managed services. SASE (secure access service edge) brings SD-WAN, SSE (security service edge) and ZTNA (zero-trust network access) together. We translate the vocabulary into plain English, then help you design an approach that fits.

What we help you get right

SD-WAN, SSE and ZTNA, matched to your sites, applications and risk.

Where we help

  • Plain-English map of SD-WAN, SSE and ZTNA options
  • Design that fits your sites, applications and risk
  • Fully managed versus co-managed models, explained clearly
  • Supplier comparison on fit, terms and how well each one delivers
  • Coordinated rollout between your network and security teams
  • Escalations and contract monitoring after go-live

Signs it’s time to review

  • An MPLS or SD-WAN contract renews in the next 6 to 12 months
  • Users and applications have moved to the cloud faster than the network
  • Security and network teams are evaluating tools separately
  • You are adding sites or remote workers
  • A security review has raised questions about remote access

How we work on sase

Design, Negotiate, Implement, Support.

The same four steps as everything we do, with SASE specifics.

  1. 01

    Design

We map your sites, applications and risk into a plain-English design before any supplier is engaged.

  2. 02

    Negotiate

We compare managed and co-managed SASE options across suppliers on fit, terms and how well each one delivers.

  3. 03

    Implement

A project advocate coordinates the rollout across your network and security teams and escalates when something slips.

  4. 04

    Support

After go-live we stay on for escalations and contract and renewal monitoring. The supplier delivers and bills the service; we stay in your corner.

FAQ

SASE questions we hear often.

What is the difference between SD-WAN and SASE?

SD-WAN (software-defined wide area networking) connects your sites and steers traffic over the best available links. SASE (secure access service edge) adds cloud-delivered security, including SSE (security service edge) and ZTNA (zero-trust network access), so users and sites get the same protection wherever they are. Many organizations start with SD-WAN and add the security layers over time.

Who delivers and bills the service?

The supplier you choose delivers and bills the service directly. Nimbl Networks advises on the design, runs the comparison and negotiation, advocates for you through installation, and stays on afterward as your escalation resource.

How much does it cost to work with Nimbl Networks?

There is no cost to you for working with Nimbl Networks. The easiest way to see how that works is a 30-minute meeting, where we walk through exactly how it works for an organization like yours, with no pressure and no obligation.

When should we start a SASE review?

Ahead of an MPLS or SD-WAN renewal, before a security review, or when sites and remote workers are growing. Design choices and negotiating leverage are widest six to twelve months out. We also help mid-project.
